The technology fair held in Seville made it clear that AI has become an essential component of applications used by service providers
The 19th edition of the Technological Fair, AOTEC 2026, held a few days ago at the FIBES Exhibition and Conference Center in Seville, Spain, once again established itself as one of the most important events in Southern Europe for technological innovation and connectivity.
Under the theme “Connecting Innovation, AI, and Territory,” the event brought together more than 5,000 professionals, 150 exhibiting companies, and 80 industry experts to discuss a wide range of topics related to the current challenges and opportunities facing ISPs worldwide. The exhibition also showcased the latest advances in advanced fiber-optic deployments, intelligent networks, advanced cybersecurity, and IoT solutions for smart cities.

One of the main discussions focused on digital sovereignty and resilience, strongly emphasizing the role of local operators as critical infrastructure essential for ensuring data sovereignty and mitigating service disruptions across Spain.
Without a doubt, however, the most interesting discussions revolved around Artificial Intelligence -AI and Cloud technologies. These sessions highlighted that, unlike last year, AI-based solutions and Cloud services have now reached a mature stage and are being directly applied to optimize the performance and service offerings of local operators. This comes as no surprise, as we have been emphasizing at Meerkat for quite some time: AI is no longer a tool reserved for specialized technological applications. Instead, it is becoming increasingly present in countless everyday business operations.
We would like to thank everyone who visited our booth to learn firsthand about the capabilities and scope of our Meerkat Cx solution, the only AI-powered platform specifically designed for ISPs and service providers.
