Main Conclusions of Andina Link

The mega exhibition held in Cartagena focused on the current state of ISPs.

The latest edition of Andina Link Smart Cities Expo 2025 was a resounding success. This event—the most influential in telecommunications, technology, and smart cities in Latin America—brought together key decision-makers from Internet service providers, cable operators, telecommunications companies, governments, and other related industries in Cartagena, Colombia. The numbers speak for themselves: over 5,000 attendees (an absolute record) and more than 200 companies from 30 countries across the Americas, Europe, and Asia participated this year.

Among the many topics discussed, several focused on changes in “content consumption habits, the growing demand for fast and reliable broadband, and the need for a solid distribution infrastructure that ensures consistent quality.”

One of the most resonant points was the high demand for quality from audiences across the continent. As highlighted during the event, “for instance, viewers expect streaming experiences that match global platforms.” This puts pressure on ISPs, which are required to meet these expectations under conditions that are often less than ideal, as they must make significant investments in infrastructure and user experience.

Additionally, discussions covered advances in IoT and AI, green technologies, sustainable solutions, and ways to bridge the digital divide through initiatives that enhance connectivity and promote digital equity in vulnerable communities.
